2023 Development Profession of the Year - Andrea Hansen
The Public Radio Association of Development Officers is proud to announce Andrea Hansen of Iowa Public Radio as our Development Professional of the Year! Andrea managed IPR's first ever capital campaign and completed it in record time. The $6.5 M Resounding Future campaign was organized around IPR's transition from a university-based public radio network to an independent nonprofit media organization. It followed a celebration of 100 years of public radio in Iowa and was focused on laying a solid foundation for IPR's future, inspiring gifts to increase IPR's journalism, building an endowment, and investing in next generation talent and technology.
According to her colleagues, Andrea was the key to success of the campaign, shepherding the gold star team she assembled, and using her soft, yet firm and engaging style to keep them all enthused and on track.
